Achievements:

​

  • Propose and lead system improvement for time-limited events (TLEs).

  • Balanced 20 events for "Disney Magic Kingdom" to optimize player experience and monetization. 

  • Identify and develop the purchase drivers and provide data-driven design, tuning, and pricing recommendations to improve game financial performance.

  • Analyze the collected data and report the underperforming aspects of the game economic model.

  • Research and deconstruct games and present findings with fellow designers.

Learnings:

Soft Skills:

  • To be a part of a big team, it is important to communicate proactively.

  • Asking questions is vital for growth, but researching before seeking help can also support my team.

  • Passion and taking initiative make a great worker. 

  • Understand the point of view of the task reviewers to avoid similar mistakes or misunderstandings.

​

Hard Skills:

  • Design systems from the higher level. Don't focus on the detail too much initially.

  • Write notes and keep track of random ideas. 

  • Knowledge of the system's balancing levers is the foundation of a good game balance job.

  • Data is crucial for system design, but we don't always have to wait for data.
